Townhome Gutter News
Posted in Neighborhood News
from Tim Kemper, Ad Hoc Townhome Chair
I received some clarity from Cari on the townhome gutter cleaning:
Townhome Gutter Cleaning Update
Atlanta Best Gutters has completed the Winter gutter inspection and cleaning for all townhomes. They went up on each townhome building roof to do a visual inspection. If there were leaves or pine needles on the roof they blew them off with a blower. If they found leaves or pine needles in the gutters they also blew those out with blowers. If any gutter had significant deposits, they pulled it out by hand and dropped it to ground level. Their mission was to insure rain water will flow freely, and not to clean the gutters to like-new condition. Significant deposits dropped to ground level were then picked up and removed.
Sorry for any miscommunication regarding the need to turn your water on in the middle of Winter for gutter cleaning. They used blowers rather than water for the cleaning. It鈥檚 good practice to close your water supply valves inside and drain your hose bibs during Winter weather to prevent freezing.

Meet the Neighbors: Doug #038; Brent Munster
Posted in Get Involved!, Meet the Neighbors!, Upcoming
Learn more about the amazing things your neighbors Doug and Brent Munster are doing with their Georgia Charity 鈥 Adopted By You (Gift of Adoption).
(L-R:)聽Brent, Sawyer, Shepherd and Doug Munster锘
Neighbors Doug and Brent Munster, along with friend Kecia Tomlin, developed the Adopted By You 5K amp; Fun Run in 2017. They聽chose to partner with Gift of Adoption because of聽the amazing success GOA has had聽providing grants to so many deserving children and families over the past 23 years. The Munsters are no strangers to adoption. They now have a beautiful 4-year old boy named Sawyer, and a new baby boy Shepherd, whom they adopted through the open adoption process.During this process, Doug and Brent saw firsthand how expensive it is to adopt, and how the upfront costs of adoption can often delay or prevent adoptions from happening. They realized how fortunate they were to have the means to afford adoption, but their hearts ached for the children waiting and qualified parents yearning to bring them home. They wanted to find a way to give back and help adoptive families with the last bit of financial support they need to bring their waiting child home.Doug discussed his idea with his close friend Kecia, and she immediately jumped on board. On June 10, 2017, Doug, Brent and Kecia hosted the inaugural Adopted By You 5K amp; Fun Run (in partnership with GOA) to support the many children in need of a forever family.
The Adopted By You 5K amp; Fun Run team has been able to raise over $50K since the inaugural race with the help of all the amazing sponsors, race participants and volunteers. Corporate and private sponsorships represent about $25K of the total funds raised.Funds from the Adopted By You 2017 and 2018 race events have helped 19 children join their families in Georgia. These include both domestic and international adoptions. Doug has also joined the Georgia Board of Directors for Gift of Adoption as the boards President to help Georgia families statewide.聽

Please聽sign up聽for this years 5K which will take place on聽聽June 8th, 2019 in the ZooAtlanta / Grant Park area.聽聽Can鈥檛 wait to have our neighbors support this amazing cause.聽聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 聽聽聽 聽~ by Doug Munster

Fieldstone Sends Official HOA Meeting Notification
Posted in Get Involved!, Neighborhood News, Upcoming
All property owners should have received this notification from Fieldstone via email. If you did not receive it and have registered properly at the Fieldstone portal, you need to contact Cari to see why you are not on their mailing list.聽
As a reminder, this meeting is for HOA related business. 聽We get one hour and one hour only to cover a lot of HOA ground.聽There will be reps from both Fieldstone and Pulte attending.聽
This meeting is not the venue to vent on Pulte for construction or quality issues or delays, no matter how tempting it may be when you have some of their personnel in your sites and within earshot (or should that be #8220;earshout #8221;?).
You may waylay them afterwards, just expect them to bolt fast, because they know what #8217;s coming.

Walking Club Changes Time
Posted in Upcoming
The Meeting Park Walking Club will begin meeting at 7:30 effective immediately.
Walks take place every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 7:30am.
Please meet at the pool end of Meeting Street if you #8217;d like to join. Walks take between 60-90 minutes, depending on what participants feel like.
Routes are generally through low traffic areas, including the Mountain to River trail, the National Cemetery, or through quiet neighborhoods. Coffee break optional.
All walkers welcome, regardless of ability or endurance. We are pretty much a bunch of grey headed possums, not marathon runners, ya know. No slowpoke shaming here!
