Description:The Green Party of the United States is a grassroots national party. We're the party for "We The People," the health of our planet, and future generations instead of the One Percent. We welcome all those who refuse to accept a choice limited to the Two Parties of War and Wall Street. The Green Party supports livable wages, universal health care (Medicare For All), repeal of Citizens United, free higher education, student debt forgiveness, full reproductive rights for women, human rights for all immigrants and for LGBTs, and racial justice: Black Lives Matter! Greens will lead the opposition to the Trump-Pence agenda during the next four years. We will not compromise, capitulate, or go along with the bipartisan consensus. The Green Party continues to represent the best hope for America's future.

We are grassroots activists, environmentalists, advocates for social justice, nonviolent resisters and regular citizens who鈥檝e had enough of corporate-dominated politics. Government must be part of the solution, but when it鈥檚 controlled by the 1%, it鈥檚 part of the problem. The longer we wait for change, the harder it gets. Don鈥檛 stay home on election day. Vote Green.
聽
Everything we do is based on our four pillars:
聽
Our country's long wars and worldwide military presence are immoral and unsustainable. Our military budget must be cut dramatically.
The human cost of climate change is too high. We need to get off fossil fuels and on to renewable energy.
Falling wages and rising bills are hitting most of us, and the most vulnerable are hit the hardest. We demand a living wage and a real safety net.
We demand public financing of elections, open debates, and more representative voting systems.
...and our ten key values

Green Party Endorses School of the Americas Annual Border Encuentro
The Green Party has endorsed the School of the Americas Annual Border Encuentro to be held on November 16-18, which has gathered for the past two years in Ambos Nogales, Arizona/Sonora for nonviolent protest against U.S. intervention in Latin America. The Annual Border Encuentro is sponsored by School of the Americas Watch (SOAW), which has advocated over 27 years for the closure of the School of the Americas/Western Hemisphere Institute for Security and Cooperation in Ft. Benning, Georgia.
"We've endorsed the Annual Border Encuentro to highlight the disastrous effects of U.S. political, economic, and military intervention in Latin America," said Dee Taylor, Co-Chair of the Green Party Peace Action Committee, which sponsored the endorsement. "The School of the Americas has trained over 80,000 Latin American military and police officers since its founding in 1946. These officers have been connected to some of the worst violations of human rights in the region and include nearly a dozen Latin American dictators, some of whom have overthrown democratically elected leaders in coups."

Montana Green Party Seeks Emergency Injunctive Relief In Federal Court
(Helena, Mt) On Monday the Montana Green Party (MGP), and 8 of its supporters, filed suit in Federal District Court. The case, which names the Montana Secretary of State, Corey Stapleton, as the defendant, asks the court to grant an immediate and permanent injunction on the enforcement of MCA, 搂 13-10-601(2)(a), (b), (c), and (d), as these statutes impose an unconstitutional burden on the MGP and its supporters by violating the first and fourteenth amendments to the United States Constitution.
The initial complaint declares that "the Plaintiffs will be denied their rights to actively engage in the exercise of their free speech, right to political association, right to form a political party, seek redress of grievances, cast an effective vote, and equal protection and due process of the laws of the State of Montana and the United States of America."

Why I'm Green
Photo by Wendy SchreierI'm Green because I can't take the lies and the conditions anymore. Homelessness while there are empty houses, prisons built while schools close, children being shot down on our streets by police, mothers losing their children to the state because they don't have water in their homes and can't afford the water bill. My friends and family cant afford to wait anymore to try and change the Democratic Party .People who can wait are not familiar with our reality.
The one party system is killing our people and it's high time we stand up and say something, and more importantly, change it. It can't change unless we break with the corporations' money and that's exactly what the Green Party is doing. It stands up to dirty money and puts forward the vision of the world we want to live in. We can't wait any more. Building our party now will help to ensure a future for all of our children and generations to come.-Cheri Honkala
When it comes to the interests of Latinx and other people of color, Greens have the best platform in American politics. State by state, Greens are advocating fairness, economic justice, and respect鈥攆or all Americans. In recent years many Black and Latinx activists have left Democratic or independent politics, to become Green candidates and party leaders. In my home state of Rhode Island, Greens are active in grassroots movements to end racial profiling and police brutality, protect immigrants' rights, end deportations, and achieve a path to citizenship. I'm Green because from what I can see, the world's only real chance to survive, is through politics grounded in Ecology, Equality, Democracy, and Peace鈥攊n other words, Green politics. The mainstream parties are both controlled by big business, and can't help us now. In fact, they're working together against us. Isn't it time you joined the Greens?-Tony Affigne
Photo by Wendy SchreierI'm Green because I still have hope. Despite all of the pollution, racism, corporate control, money in politics, incarceration -- the list goes on and on -- I still have hope that it can change. I believe it takes a small band of people -- in communities all across the globe -- that stand up and say "enough is enough." The Green Party is that small band and we are ALL across the globe.
I am Green because I am not just voting on Election Day. I'm involved all year long and I'm "voting with my feet" by walking away from the corporate-controlled Democratic Party and into the Green Party, where grassroots political action rules the day.
Most social movements in this country started small and faced impossible odds. Yet if it can be done. I am Green because I have hope for our small band to grow into a mighty wave.
-Hillary Kane
